There's one here at Notre Dame, too! It was in the paper just before Halloween and I meant to bring it up when I saw you but somehow it got forgotten. Too amusing. Before it got so miserably cold here, I'd sometimes see the Snitch around campus - very distinctive in his yellow shirt and Spongebob flannel pajama pants. >;-)

Judging from the comments on his site, apparently you weren't the only one who had that reaction to Covenant. It's the only series I ever read where I completely loved the world and *hated* the hero. He never redeemed himself. Ever. But I read the whole series anyway, hoping against hope. The 'alternate' title given for it pretty much sums it up. :)

I loved most of the other stuff on the list, too - Eddings, McCaffrey, Anthony, Lackey, Moorcock, Jordan, etc. - he could have pulled them all off my bookshelves. And he skewers them all so accurately. Much, much too amusing.

My web-editor eyes saw those paragraphs and said "uh-oh", but once I started reading I hardly noticed.

Very very shiny. And can I love it that he uses actual, long, beautiful paragraphs, instead of succumbing to the web custom of breaking things up into little bitty bits?

I really really really wanted a shot of Percy up to his elbows in Attorney General Gypsum Goode's breeches, but the crowd got in the way.

I do believe the folks who hit KRF the first 3 weeks or so didn't get to see the Lost Boys, either. Perhaps the erraticity of their schedule means they're in demand, so it's good for them, yes?

Awww... the photos are sweet. We'll be seeing the Lost Boys this weekend! Sadly they're only Guest Artists for one weekend down here at CRF.

Sorry about your comment gremlins. Pesky things.

Believe me, love, I know. But I just love the cursive historical hands too much to ever stop trying. I'm fascinated by the way Thomas Jefferson linked the "Th" in his signature, for instance. And, yes, you guessed it (though I'll admit I wasn't really trying to hide it): this particular project was inspired by my recently acquired Marlowe fangirlness.

It amazes me that someone who spent so much time with a pen in his hand could have left only one handwriting sample behind, and that a signature witnessing a will. But we're in the same boat with Will S., too, and he lived another twenty-odd years.
