About Ardellis

Ardellis’s offline name is Robin M. Whelton.

She is a liberal feminist environmentalist and is a genuine Salem (Massachusetts) Witch. She is in favor of social justice, reproductive choice, gay marriage, free speech, the separation of church and state, teaching real science in the schools, not invading other countries when you don’t have to, having an honest and transparent government, planting trees, being kind to animals, feeding children, and making sure that the old and the sick are properly cared for. She votes in every election.

Ardellis has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a job in higher ed administration that makes use of it for at least a couple of hours a month. She has a husband who is a museum curator and a cat who is perpetually starving (just ask her).

She is not embarrassed to admit that she is a geek and a fangirl. She reads comic books and plays roleplaying games. She loves fantasy, science fiction, and vampire stories. She adores Joss Whedon, Elizabeth Bear, J.K. Rowling, Gregory Maguire, Charles de Lint, and J.R.R. Tolkien. She is crazy about British television, especially Doctor Who (new and classic); she thinks that Coupling, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, and As Time Goes By are much funnier than any sitcom that the American networks have ever done.

She is an aspiring novelist. She has a fascination for languages and has invented two of her own so far. She regularly talks to the voices in her head. And she feels very strange writing about herself, especially in third person.
